Fortis College offers dental hygiene services to the public through its teaching clinic. Services are provided by students under the supervision of licensed professionals.
The clinic’s primary goal is to train competent dental hygiene professionals and promote oral health. To ensure efficient use of clinical time, two or more missed or canceled appointments may result in discontinued care. If you need to cancel your appointment, please cancel at least 24 hours so the student can find another patient.
As a learning environment, appointments last up to 3 hours and may require multiple visits. Treatment takes longer due to instructor evaluations throughout.
Please be aware that you may not qualify as a teaching case and therefore would not be able to be seen as a patient in our clinic. Under those circumstances, you will be referred to the appropriate dental provider for your dental needs.
Students and faculty aim to deliver respectful, high-quality care. A feedback questionnaire for your comments is available at your final visit.
Note: Emergency or general dental procedures (e.g., root canals, fillings, extractions, implants, dentures, etc.) are not offered. Referrals can be provided if needed.
Services are fee-for-service; dental insurance is not required or billed. Fortis College dental hygiene clinic follows strict CDC and OSHA infection control guidelines to ensure safety for all.

Patient Rights
As a patient, you are entitled to:
- Respectful, confidential care.
- A complete dental exam and medical history review as it relates to your dental condition.
- A clear, understandable treatment plan with your input and explanation of all options, risks, and costs.
- Timely, scheduled treatment.
- Equal access to care, regardless of race, national origin, religion, sexual orientation or physical disability, with accommodations if needed. Examples of disability include sight impaired, hearing impaired and mobility problems such as wheelchair confinement.
- Assistance is available from a patient advocate or Dental Hygiene Program Manager if issues arise during treatment.
Patient Obligations
You are expected to:
- Keep all scheduled appointments
- Maintain your oral health by brushing, flossing, and attending recall visits.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- The Clinic accepts credit cards or cash.
- The Clinic does not bill insurance.
- The Clinic cannot accommodate requests for radiographs during school breaks, holidays or weekends.
- All patients are required to have current radiographs (x-rays) on file to be treated in clinic.
- Services are intended to help patients maintain proper dental hygiene between regular dental visits.
- Services are not a substitution for regular dental exams by a licensed dentist.

Clinic Hours: Monday – Thursday from 7:45 am – 5:00 pm

LOCATION
Fortis College is located at 3949 S 700 East, Salt Lake City, UT. Parking is available on the 2nd or 3rd level of the parking garage. Enter the building by crossing the bridge on the east side, 2nd floor. The clinic is located on the 2nd floor toward the northwest corner of the building
